thewealthworks support ICAEW probate masterclass

Leading wealth management software developers, thewealthworks, will be supporting the ICAEW at two significant best practice masterclasses focusing on probate and how chartered accountancy practices can grow their business through offering probate as a new service.

The two, half-day ICAEW events – ‘Probate: making the most of the opportunity’ – will focus on how big is the demand for probate and how much revenue practices can generate.  They will also discuss how to present new probate services to the market; how to overcome the key challenges of attracting new clients; the pros and cons of probate related work and how to avoid common pitfalls.

Mick Jones, managing director of thewealthworks said: “The ICAEW is now a regulator of probate services and accountants are able to provide reserved legal services which were previously restricted to lawyers.  As a result probate represents one of the biggest new business opportunities for the accountancy profession and we think more practices could expand into this new area of work and add further value to the services they offer to clients.

“We have developed, a specialist probate and estate management software package, that helps to make the provision of probate services cost-effective and competitive through reducing administration time by up to 25 hours per case compared to using spreadsheets.

“It also has a robust and well-tested accounting engine which makes data processing proficient and extremely accurate, while reducing the risks of administrative errors   and ensuring all disbursements are correct.

“We see these events as a significant opportunity for introducing the benefits of Troika to practitioners who are generally interested in the opportunity that offering probate services can afford, particularly as the benefits and realities of it will be explained by experts from the ICAEW and industry.”

The event will feature probate specialist speakers from SWAT UK, one of the largest accountancy training businesses in the UK, and will include Jane Mather, Divisional Director and Kathryn Jones, Practice Consultant with additional expertise from ICAEW’s Patricia Adair, Regulatory Policy Manager.

A ‘Chartered Accountant Starter Package’ will be showcased at both events by thewealthworks which includes a fully installed system with customisation, one days training for up to 5 people and a licence for 10 probate cases.

The ‘Probate: making the most of the opportunity’ events take place at the ICAEW, Chartered Accountants’ Hall, Moorgate Place, London on Wednesday 18 May and Wednesday 22 June between 1330-1800hrs. Further information is available by calling 01908 248 159 or mailing events@icaew.com
